According to The Smoking Gun, ex-NBA star and current coach of the Golden State Warriors Mark Jackson has just ended a seven year extortion ordeal through a settlement.
Now sit back and tell me what writer could come up with THIS story.
Seven years ago, while then 41 year old Mark Jackson was a commentator for the New Jersey Nets, he engaged in an extramarital affair with then 22 year old Alexis Adams while she worked at a New York gentleman’s club.
According to federal investigators, in April of 2012 Jackson was approached by ex-con Marcus Shaw who revealed naked pictures and recorded voicemails from the coach during his affair with Adams. Jackson then paid $5,000 in cash for the incriminating files which he destroyed afterwards.
Then things get real House of Cards-ish.
A few weeks after the exchange, Adams posed as a “Mark Smith” in the “reputation management business” when she contacted Jackson’s wife via email to extort more money. As this faux business man, Shaw threatened to release the pictures to the public if the wife did not buy the files for upwards of $200,000.
Adams and Shaw were later arrested after Jackson contacted the FBI. Shaw pleaded guilty to participating in extorting Jackson.
Adams has agreed to a plea deal that will result in her applying to enter a pretrial diversion program, avoiding her scheduled May 3rd trial. Adams has to be accepted by the Pretrial Services officials and after completion of the program the charges would be dropped.
Last April, around the time the extortion plot began, Jackson’s Warriors were ending their eventual 23-43 season missing the playoffs. After the last game, Jackson said this to NBA.com about the failed season:
“Tough one. Obviously, disappointing to the extent that we made a promise – a promise that we did not fulfill. Which is fine. If I had to do it over again I would do it the exact same way.”
A year later and the 47-35 Golden State Warriors are one win away from winning their first playoff series in six years.
Life > Fiction.

A confirmed collaborative cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” with Beyonce and past collaborator Andre 3000 was announced to appear on The Great Gatsby soundtrack earlier this week. However, the troubled British singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse attested recently that he was not made aware of this cover and offered a resolution:
I don’t know this but what if Beyonce gave £100,000 to foundation. Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there.

Amy Winehouse’s estate was left to her parents after her passing on July 23rd, 2011. While her estate includes assets personally owned by the singer, her album Back To Black was released by Island Records, whom may have rights to the masters of her song “Back To Black.”

Seven years, 3 months and 16 days after Arrested Development was unceremoniously canceled by Fox, the morally debased Bluth family returns. Netflix announced that the 15 episode Season 4 of Arrested Development will debut on May 26th.
As the show gears up for a long overdue return there have been hints that the show will be completely different than expectations. In a recent interview with GQ, Jason Bateman “emphatically” stated that the 15 episodes premiering on Netflix will not be Season 4.
“It got misbranded or mislabeled way, way, way back when and was never corrected for one reason or another. There are different agendas at work there, but it is not season four.”
In today’s press release announcing the show’s release date, series creator and executive producer Michael Hurwitz added more vagaries about the show, even going so far as to imply that Netflix’s round-the-clock video streaming will be integral in the show:
“In truth we are doing something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform. Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence.”
All of the cast members will return to whatever this collection of episodes are and will be joined by a few high profile guests. Andy Richter, Conan O’Brien and Seth Rogen are a few of the confirmed guests on the new
In related amazing news, two guys spent five years interviewing fans and major players of the show and have started a Kickstarter to get this documentary off the ground. They have already attained well over their $25,000 goal, however that was to cover the cost to use photographs “owned” by Fox. Any extra money could help with promotion and possibly a release before the Arrested Development premiere on Netflix on May 26th.
